In this piece, I was testing different ways of adhering little wooden blocks to the wooden panel. Among the ways are with gesso, with undiluted paint, with clear gloss medium, and with paint with medium added. I tried each method both on top of gesso and on top of paint. All of the tests seemed to work well; I can use whichever method is most convenient.
I also had a little fun with the cubes, but mainly they're just identified so that I would know which ones, if any, failed. I recorded the method of gluing for each block in my studio notes.
