The last thing I did on this painting was to move the main elements to different layers here so that I could adjust the composition. I didn't get around to that adjusting, so it's still pretty awkward at the moment.
I intend for this to stay sparse and formal; I plan to add only two or three more elements.
I'm seriously considering dropshadows behind everything.
