| After getting home from work on Friday, I decided to make the rounds of the courtyard, and see what was about. Of course, I first stopped briefly at home to say hi to my kitty and see how he was doing. So when I went out, he followed me, and took up his customary guard position at the top of the stairs. |

I felt safe knowing that Zippy was watching over things.
One of the major courtyard attractions these days was baby ducks. I found them in the same spot I had seen them the day before, but this time momma was away for a few minutes and so they weren't hidden beneath her. There were five of the little guys resting on the rocks. |

The paths in our courtyard are basically shaped like the number eight, with one loop of the eight being larger than the other. I live on the large loop, and often just walk a circle around on that loop, so I don't get to the other side all that often.
But for some reason, today I went around the smaller loop, and I got to meet some inhabitants from that side whom I hadn't met before.
The first of my new acquaintances from the other side of the pond was this handsome green-eyed fellow named Cayman. He was a fairly friendly sort, and he came over to say hi to me. |
| I was thinking that maybe Cayman had just had a meal, because he was using a woody stem from a potted plant as a toothpick. |
| But then again, maybe he wasn't being fed at all, because the next thing he did was to take a big chomp on the stem. |

| My second new acquaintance of the day, a somewhat larger gentleman by the name of Shiloh, watched Cayman and his chomping with an evident look of disapproval. |
Shiloh seemed to be one of those quiet loner types. I couldn't get him to come out further than the doorway.
Just one condo further along, I met another resident, a beautiful white lady named Ms. Kitty. Ms. Kitty glared at me when I took her picture, but she didn't have the seriousness about her that Shiloh did. |
| Ms. Kitty's human was outside, and she said that she was actually quite surprised that Ms. Kitty stayed out on the patio while I was around; normally she'll run back inside if anyone is near. A little later, I caught some other shots of her at her window; this is supposedly about the best view of her that other visitors get. |
That shot seems to capture her active and inquisitive feline nature a lot better than the previous one. She seemed to be a really sweet kitty.
I was chatted with Ms. Kitty's person for awhile before calling it a day. It had been a very short walk for me, but any outing where you meet three new cats is a darned good outing.
Being neighbourly,
Tom
