I came home one day and was walking past my neighbors place,
and I saw their cat Smudge sitting on their stairs.

I waved and said hi to Smudge, but he didn't even look at me.
His attention was focussed on something else.

I turned to see what he was looking at,
and it was a Great Blue Heron, standing on a rock in our lagoon.

I went inside and got my camera; upon my return was happy to find
that the massive bird hadn't moved from the rock

He stuck around the courtyard for over half an hour.
Any fish in the lagoon didn't stand a chance.
